      METABOLOMIX Test

This test gives an assessment, on a cellular level of your body's need for certain nutrients. It is an advanced nutritional and metabolic analysis that gives an in depth view of your body's ability to utilise fuel for energy (via the Kreb's cycle), detoxify and manages oxidative stress. ​​​​​​What is the Metabolomix Test?

​

It is essentially a urine analysis which looks at organic acids. These are products that are lost in the urine when we don't have enough of a particular nutrient in order to convert them. We can use organic acids in the urine to find out information about what is happening at a deeper level. For instance, does the body have enough of a particular nutrient to fulfil all the demands of the cell? or is the cell being compromised. 

 

 

What does it assess?

• Malabsorption and bacterial & yeast dysbiosis markers. 

• Cellular energy and mitochondrial metabolites: biomarkers of carbohydrate and fatty acid metabolism. 

• Neurotransmitter metabolites of adrenaline, noradrenaline and dopamine. 

• Vitamins and Minerals – evaluates functional need for key nutrients including B-vitamins, magnesium, zinc, and others essential for energy and metabolic support.

• The laboratory will send you the kit in the post, collect the urine sample, freeze and return. 

• The results will arrive in 2-3 weeks. 

• Book and pay for the consultation / package. 

• Discuss the results with me in light of your health history and current situation. We will put in place a personalised protocol based on the test results.
